Did you know that you’re already on the edge? Point2 is currently working to serve all of its web solutions via the Akamai Edge Network. The Edge is a network of over 15,000 servers spread out to virtually every major city on the planet. Because the distance between our customers and the Edge servers is so short, this allows for a fast, stable, and incredibly reliable system and a dramatic improvement over the old method of transferring data from one server location to every corner of the globe and back again.
Point2 has led its field with its use of the Edge Network to deliver Point2 Homes, and has further integration planned for the future. As a result, Akamai (who currently delivers web solutions for some of the biggest and most successful companies on the planet) has published a case study chronicling Point2’s current and future implementations.
