Point2 Grants Patent License To Shutterfly on Photo Formatting And Storage Technology

(Saskatoon, SK and Vancouver, BC - December 8, 2005) - Point2 Technologies Inc. ("Point2") today announced that Shutterfly, Inc. of Redwood City, CA has signed a licensing agreement for patented Point2 technology in the field of formatting, resizing and storing of image data and photos.

Under the terms of the deal, Shutterfly, the leading independent online photo service and Inc. 500 company has been granted a license to Point2 United States Patent No. 6,721,802, Canadian Patent No. 2,315,278 and European Patent Application No. 00306934.1. The patents relate to the ability to automatically resize, reformat or alter image data on a client-side computer, and upload it efficiently to a central server for storage.

Financial terms of the deal are confidential.

"Thousands of small, medium and large organizations in a number of industries worldwide, including real estate, heavy equipment, and consumer technology products and services must rely on more efficient processes to format and upload photos to central storage servers, effectively positioning Point2 Technologies to benefit from its patents in the field," said Wendell Willick, chief executive officer of Point2 Technologies.
